BIM Challenge 2025

BIM Challenge 2025 is a high-impact program aimed at empowering the younger generation in the smart construction sector through the adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM). This program is specifically designed to challenge students’ creativity and innovation in producing modern, sustainable, and efficient construction solutions.

Pioneering the Future of Smart Construction

BIM Challenge 2025 supports Malaysia’s goal of achieving a globally competitive digital construction industry. It serves as a premier platform for students from diverse educational backgrounds and institutions to compete, share ideas, and learn from industry experts. The program also acts as a bridge, connecting students with key industry stakeholders such as consultants, developers, and government agencies – fostering strategic collaborations toward smarter and more innovative construction development.

Through the 2025 edition, participants will not only have the opportunity to showcase their skills but also gain valuable experience in facing real-world challenges. Additionally, BIM Challenge 2025 offers participants insights into best practices in utilizing BIM technology, which has been proven to enhance project efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize errors in planning and execution.

Organized by JPPKK Curriculum Division, Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO) and Kolej Komuniti Sabak Bernam, this event will be held from 4 to 6 August 2025 at Politeknik Ungku Omar, Ipoh, Perak. With the theme “Pioneering the Future of Smart Construction”, BIM Challenge 2025 aspires to lead the future of construction by introducing relevant technologies and innovative strategies to students and the workforce of tomorrow.

Objectives

1. To achieve the Polytechnic KPI under the strategy of enhancing impactful TVET programs, by providing opportunities for lectures and students to showcase creativity in research and innovation in teaching and learning.

2. Achieving KPI 4 (POLYCC), which refers to the number of students who successfully reach the national or international level.

3. Empowering innovation in the field of BIM technology for bachelor’s degree, diploma, and certificate programs at polytechnics and community colleges under the Civil Engineering & Built Environment field, as well as serving as a center for teaching, innovation, and training in Civil Engineering & Built Environment.

4. Adding value and providing exposure to current issues and the latest technologies in the construction industry using BIM technology in Malaysia, thereby enhancing the employability of graduates from polytechnic and community college programs under the Civil Engineering & Built Environment field.
